Katha Chanakya by Radhakrishnan Pillai
There is no words to describe the achievements of Chanakya. A teacher who is remembered even today as the greatest kingmaker. A teacher whose teachings are still relevant today and whose ideas are ahead of his time.
Even when he was surrounded by powerful enemies and there was no hope, he created his own path. The struggles and the obstacles he endured in his life and how he overcame them is an inspirational to all the generations.
He was the one who united the kingdoms against the Alexander The Great and made sure he returned defeated. He also dethroned the most powerful king Dhananand and established an empire. His book "ARTHASHASTRA" is still being researched and studied world over.
Radhakrishnan Pillai's Katha Chanakya is a collection of 30 short stories from the life of chanakya.
Each story is for both young and old, lessons to learn and also to admire the great strategic dreamer and kingmaker. This book also shows us the way to chose the right path in difficult situations. Chanakya talks about many topics like governance, king's duty, citizen's duty, nationalism, governance and some ahead of his time like women employment, rooting out corruption etc. In fact he was successful in implementing these through Chandragupta Maurya, his student.
Each story, from his life, is an inspiration and also gives us the mindset to be ready to face our obstacles. The way he executes his plans leaves us spellbound.
I find the lessons very useful in my daily life and I admit I was hooked till i finished reading all the stories. Each story is followed by exercise to journal our thoughts which was very useful for me.
If you have a dream and want to succeed in it, you have to try many ways and this book of wisdom will surely be your guide.
